Emil Martirossian

Here is an embodiment of the human spirit. Emil is to me, one of the worlds greatest living Martial Artists today. His speed, power and focus are the result of hard sacrificial training. His own way of the arts is Jeet Kune Do's future, Emil is a kind sharing person who is the most humbling person I've ever come across. He is very dedicated towards improving others and is never satisfied with his own ability's and furthers his skills to a even higher level. They advance past the physical and realm into the spiritual and inner conquests of the internal space within. He exists in this world and in a soulful world that can only be felt by the very people he comes into contact with. This is how he improves others. He touches people. People are drawn to him. Everybody is great because there is only one of a certain individual. Emil has managed to project his freedom of love in a transitional approach which in turn creates a honest Martial Artist. To be who you are is to be honest and free, Emil has helped countless others and me.

Cynthia Rothrock!

Growing up in the 80's was a magical time. As I discovered my love for martial arts as the 90's rolled up I would always watch films like China o Brien. Cynthia Rothrock is a rock for young inspired females and males to begin their martial arts journeys. The thing to bear in mind here is that these talented martial artists had there fair share of struggles and martial art teaches one to fight through the difficult times. Cynthia Rothrock has the toughness and excellent skills, I have not seen her matched today, I class this lady as the worlds greatest kicker along side Super foot wallece.
Thank's for the childhood inspiration!

Mickey Finn & his amazing friends

My choice of music is varied. I feel a sense of passion as I relate to 60's-70's and 80's, with hip hop playing a huge part of my being. I respect the art form of creative craft, but nothing compares to my childhood of growing up in the 90's. For that I'd like to thank D.J Mickey Finn, plus countless others. My reason is this-
Growing up with my close friends was a roller coaster due to family troubles and the easy thing to do was just pop on your headphones and escape. We would collect flyer's from M.C Lenni and buy tapes from the raves with our paper money, Sir Michael of the Finns was our favourite D.J. He always ripped it up and put a smile on your face, so as time moves on I am older and still pleased to see my idols still 'killing it' Fantazia NYE will be great, Mickey's there at the Que Club. I often wonder though, behind the cheering clouds and the feeling of fun, do the D.J's actually know that they may have just saved a child's life?

DANNY IN THE WOOD

Upon feeling very impressed and inspired by his choice of lyrics, and the way he blends them with a meaningful insight into what makes him tick...I have no other choice but to dedicate today's blog to a Kung Fuist!
The following lyrics are borrowed from Danny Wood's Sheffield parkour Training Diaries vol 4, and are fantastic.
'I start by jogging on the lady bower dam, am I training hard today? Yes I am. Twisting sit ups that make my abs hurt, I finish doing forty then take off my shirt. How should I continue, how should I advance? I start by holding a deep horse stance. All that surrounds me here is silence, 'I'm away from stolen cars and domestic violence. You can't hear clubs and you can't hear sirens, spreading through my soul like a welcome virus. You can't beat this, as I run I can't defeat this...discreetness...now I work on my main weakness. I train endurance next, and I can feel the heat raise from my toes to the top of my neck. I check another exercise from the top of my list, I train my abs, my arms, my legs and even my wrists. Should I stop training now, or persist? There will never be another moment quite like this. While most of my peers are in pubs getting pissed...I'm running up a damn wall raising my fist!
