Winter Darts Training

It's that time of year when the cold breeze tests our steel, our faith. Instead of welcoming the winter blues I shall embrace the elements and train. I enjoy running in the fresh morning, where the birds chirp freely and brown leaves blow beneath my footwork. I breath deeply in the crisp Autumn air and suddenly I feel whole, a being engulfed with energy. I'll sprint against the snow and rain, forging on to improve my well being. People don't realise that we as weather are nature, we are all among we. I take in mother natures beauty and better still thrive within it. And when I rest and have my cuppa, I'll know that I used the best of my time in earning my supper.

BLACK SUMMER

The clocks go back as the nights draw in. The leaves fall at a steady pace, and berries grow on bushes for the animals. We wrap up warm in gloves and scarfs, hibernation is upon us. The shops sell masks, and some fire works will be heard. Little trick or treaters dress up in all their innocence, blinded by ignorant parents. It all feels like spooky 'fun'...
Halloween- 31st October is the festival of Samhain. The party of the dead. Old folk laws tell us that lanterns were left out to guide the good spirits home and jack o lanterns to scare away the evil spirits. I often wonder what sort of forces we continue to lead back home after all these years of 'fun?'

'IF YOU GO DOWN TO THE WOODS TODAY...'

I love October, it's my birthday month. I love the leaves turning brown and falling about. I love the fresh crisp air leading up to Halloween. I love the fog and the coming of Bonfire night. I love the dew that rests on the grass. I love the costumes and Pumpkin's that are in shops right about now. I love the fact that the clocks go back, because why is that? I love feeling spooked. I love imagining monsters. I love watching good horrors. I love making Jack O Lanterns. I love seeing the children dressing up. I love the feeling that I was born around this time. I love walking by trees anyway, they give off oxygen and chi energy. I love the gathering of scattered leaves. I am not nuts, I just enjoy all of these things...do you?

PASSING THOUGHTS

FEB 06:
I summon up my strength, he's coming. He's trained and mean. He looks great,I say to myself. I wonder in the short seconds that I have, just before he launches his attacks...what on earth am I doing here? In this ring, in a Thai boxing gym. Then I remind myself of the up and coming fight I have. O, that must be it.
POW!
Should have blocked that punch, or was it an elbow? I move round I hear the bigger lads telling him to take it easy with me, that bothered me. Remain focused Emsley, he will take your head off. My legs feel cold in this October weather, but it's my birthday month. I feel fit and strong and I remind myself yet again of how much effort I spend keeping healthy.
THUD CRUD!
I side step and give the Russian lad a jab, cross roundhouse. Our gloves are marinated in each others sweat...so what. He makes me look skinny in comparison, but I battle on. Three minutes Duane, and you'll be out of there. Then I think of who I am, and that I'm really sparring myself. Just as a Scorpion will stand it's ground against larger adversary's, I begin my combinations. Enaud Yelsme is here!
With the three minutes over I know I lost the round, even the pats of respect I don't feel. I get changed and walk to my car very pleased that I conquered myself and my fears. And suffice to say that I went on to win my Kickboxing inter club.

AUTUMN...THE END OF SUMMER.

If there's one thing I love about the end of summer, it's the golden leaves. They look so artistic. This means we are going into Winter, the end of summer. The air can be really fresh around this time and will help clear the lungs. We will be entering the Witching month...October my 30TH birthday month. The night will draw in and clocks change. My blogs will be getting very dark, I'm unsure why I get like this. I know it will be fitting with the festival of Samhain-Halloween. We'll just have to wait and see.

SUMMER NIGHTS

Ah, those summer nights are here again. Back when I was growing up it was all BMX stunts over Park Lane down on Castle Vale estate in Birmingham. Me and my mates would walk over the chippy, or have barbeque's. We would play the Mega Drive in Quentin's garden, or just chat, picking Daisy's as the sun bowed down to the roofs. Me and Damien would perform press ups on the railings trying to be Bruce Lee. Ha ha, we would walk to Asda tensed up. Robert would always have his Walkman on playing, Mickey Finn, or Slipmatt. We would all relate as our home life was not as smooth as the other children. Never the less we had fun, we was the Park Lane Federation -P.L.F.
Now though, we have grown up and some have moved away. We will still continue to rem anise about them summer nights over Park Lane making D.I.Y barbeque's out of shopping trolleys. It's all Barby's at each others places now, when we can fit it in. I'm very happy that I grew up in the 80's and 90's, and to you all reading this...I hope it finds you well.
